The Dragons Affliction
There is no equal to the mystical legends
There gentle nature has been hidden
All the stories are of fire and bloodshed
But in the legends look between the lines
You’ll see the truth of a long lost creature
Though fear is instilled in all of our hearts
We still love them in spite of our selves
The stories of Man is what you hear
And a land filled with famine and war
Of huge flying creatures with fire breathing terror
That swept across our land
Yet what would you think started this rage
If even it happened at all
For ignorance and suspicion
Breed fear and Panic
And Man is known for this plight
Go back to the time of Wizards and Witches
And pay close attention to detail
For their legends and tales have always prevailed
And they speak of honor and strength
They tell of a creature pure of heart
And of a land so beautiful and green
Look at the Wizards in all their glory
With dragons by their side
Not spreading terror but aiding the Wizard
Protecting him, from our so called,
Humanity

A Dragon Of Yesteryear
I found a dragon scale upon the ground
I picked it up and began to frown
For on the scale was a drop of red blood
Apparently fresh torn though I couldn’t be sure
For there’s been no dragons since long before my time
I said with wonder and concern in my mind
But there it was just the same
A scale with fresh blood I held in my hand
And I thought hence, has it been slain?
Surely not, for who could do such a thing
If one had survived through the centuries of time
I looked all around searching high and low
Imagining the wonder this creature could bestow
Then as the sky darkened I saw with surprise
The glow of two huge, magnificent eyes
She’d been so close but invisible to me
And I sensed her fear of my presence it seemed
I walked a little closer and tried to insure
That I wasn’t a threat, and wished to come near
Here was a creature that legends had told
Were fearsome and mean and men had loathed
But this wasn’t a creature fearful and mean
For as I touched her she willingly leaned
And showed to me her baby dragon of gold
So don’t be surprised if one day you see
A beautiful dragon suddenly appear
A dragon forgotten from yesteryear
Who dropped a scale while I was near

The Mystical Unicorn
I lay in my bed with dismay on my mind
For the noise of the city
Was screaming out loud
I covered my head to soften the sound
But escaping the noise was not happening I found
I decided to leave and go far from this town
To the country maybe and camp on the ground
I unpacked my gear and set up camp
For a peacefully night that I surely deserved
It was quiet and cool and the night smelled so good
As I sat by the fire and took in the mood
When all of a sudden my eyes did perceive
A unicorn come up from the distant woods
She pawed at the ground and bobbed her head
As if to say come follow me now
I raised to my feet and followed her down
A path that I surely would never have found
With wonder I felt how could this be true
A beautiful Unicorn and now I saw two
My heart skipped a beat and sang with joy
At the magnificent creatures I was granted a view
No one would ever believe what I’ve seen
For somehow I know it was meant only for me
To renew my faith of the magical world
Of Dragons and Unicorns and Fairies and Trolls

Watching Over The Mystical Creatures
There are Unicorns and Fairies
And Dragons and Trolls
Of this I am sure, for I’ve always been told
Of these magical creatures of so long ago
Where Wizards and Witches conjured them up
If only to display their powers and such
But though it was whims and wishes they spun
It still opened the door to the mystical fun
Can we be sure that this world’s not un-done
Or maybe dimensions is what they did open
For conjured up Dragons and Unicorns alike
Just might have put our Creatures in sight
That maybe they’ve been right here all along
We just could not see them till the Wizards un-spun
With their potions and herbs and wands and such
They brought us these creatures that we love so much
Though sometimes we shudder at trolls in our midst
The Unicorns and Dragons are worth all the fuss
Where did they go you might very well ask?
And I couldn’t tell you without some risk
Of conjuring up a magical brew
And tell you I know just how to pursue
For my mother was one of the witches of old
And I am a witch so I have been told
I watch over the Unicorns and take care of the Dragons
Till one day they’re free and no harm can befall them

My Unicorn
My Unicorn looked down at me from up on the hill
She comes everyday and takes me to her world
A world of fantasy where everything is new
A world of magic where anything you can do
I ride on her back like the wind through the trees
We become one as we ride with ease
I love my Unicorn and she loves me
And I'll always believe in her
For she'll always be part of me

Trolls
Hardly anyone writes about Trolls
But they’re as real as Unicorns and Dragons
And Fairies I’m told
For where would we be if only we believed
In the prettiest of things that we like to see
I like the Trolls and everything in between
For they all have their place
In the scheme of things
Trolls and elves are the little people
That reside in the world of fantasy
Even if Trolls seem to be a bit nasty
We like them just as they are

Dragons And Myths
Dragons of the deep and ever so old
Come into our lives so strong and bold
We curse them and love them
Without knowing why
Or even where they came from
These myths gone by
They came from somewhere
Everyone agrees
For there’s always some truth
In these myths that we see
I wonder at how this all came about
And if you and I will ever doubt
Whether or not there once was a creature
That flew through the sky
With these magnificent features
That somewhere in time
They really persisted
Or is it just myths?
Where these creatures existed
Who’s to say
On which plane they exist
Or how many people
Can see this transfixed
For others have said
How we live on the edge
Of an existence of planes
And of numerous dimensions
Our creatures of old
Is this where they come from?
Where people of vision
See myths unfold
And witness the wonders
That these dimensions bestow

The Knight And The Dragon
A Knight of old in the valley of darkness
Walked through the night with a weary mind
For he was tired and hungry and ever so cold
And had no place to lay down
He stopped to rest by an evergreen tree
And he fell asleep after a while
He shivered and shook but he was so tired
That the cold didn’t wake him at all
He dreamt of a Dragon with wings of gold
And a body so rich and warm
And after a while the Knight woke up
And found he was sleeping in the Dragons arms
The Dragon had wrapped around the Knight
To keep him from the cold
For she had never seen a Knight of old
And didn’t feel threatened at all
As the Knight got up he pulled out his sward
And pointed it at the Dragon
With fear written all over his face
The Dragon just smiled and backed away
Leaving the Knight to fight another day
As she walked away the Knight realized
She had warmed him and kept him safe
So he put down his sward and asked her to stay
And they’re still friends to this very day

The Wizard
The wizard is he though a friend to me
He’s hated by most of the town
I run everyday to see him play
With the Dragons he does display
He conjures up Dragons and a troll here and there
To frighten the town folk away
For if he did not, they would surely display
His head on the city rack
But for me he does give a Dragon so kind
That jumps and flies and plays
For it’s just a baby that wants to romp
And I romp with him everyday.
I fear when he’s grown that the King will command
That he certainly be destroyed
But I hope by then that men will see
This Dragon can be their friend

Dragon Of The Old Code
(Inspired from the movie Dragon Heart)
The dragon Drakeo
At the end of his life
Held his heart open to the knight
He begged the knight to end his life
And save all men from the king’s evil strife
And as the knight threw his sward
He had sorrow in his sight
For he knew the dragon gave his life
For the men who helped on that night
A creature pure of heart
This dragon of the old code fights
He gave his word to the dragon clan
To help this creature they called man
And as the sward found its way
Into the dragon’s heart it stayed
As the fair maiden weeps
So does the knight of the old code greave
As the dragons last heart beat
Fades then stops he is complete
For he knows the evil king is dead
And he can rest for it is said
With the death of the evil king
And the dragons last heartbeat
The dragon will join with his kind
And live among the stars in peace
With his face turned to the heavens
The knight is now relieved to see
The dragon smile down on him
For from the gold mist the dragon does ascend
To be with his brothers that pasted before him

Pegasus Took Me For A Ride

I looked to the skies and behold I saw
A magnificent site flying there
A horse with wings so pretty and white
With a mane that sailed so gracefully behind
I watched with wonder at the site above me
And could not believe my eyes
For I had heard of this wonder but did not believe
For I thought of it just as a myth
Then he landed beside me and knelt on one knee
Beckoning me to come
So I climed on his back and away we did fly
Sailing through trees and clouds
I laughed and I cried at the beauty beneath me
As I felt the freedom of spirit sore through me
He landed like a feather
And I slide off of his back
He pawed at the ground as if saying good-bye
Then he nuzzled my cheek before turning to leave
He left just as he had come
With the gentle flapping of his wings
So graceful and sure he flew out of site
And left me with magnificent wonderment
And just like a child I'll look to the heavens
And wait to see what I find
For Pegasus's wings spread so wide
Has lighten my heart and again made me young
And I'll not forget this gift
The child in me does now sing
For with Pegasus I have flown
And here I stand before you now
And tell you this so true
I again believe in the mystical creatures
And the way they nurture our spirits
I will dream of the horse that took me afar
To the clouds and renewed my spirit
Pegasus will always be with me in heart
And I hope someday he’ll return
